Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: a 10th Army report for January 20, stating that the 1st Parachute Corps is to move from the Rome area with the 90th Panzer Grenadier Division and organise a counter attack against the Allied thrust across the Lower Garigliano; that the Pisa-Florence railway line was cut by Allied bombing on January 12; and that a special German anti-shipping operation against Allied shipping in both Naples and Gaeta is planned for the night of January 22/23.
