Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE report for the Deputy Prime Minister (PM); a BONIFACE report for Lieutenant General Ismay; a BONIFACE report for Mr Loxley; a BONIFACE report from the Code and Cypher School (CSS) to Hut 3, signalled to the PM as SLICK 9; a BONIFACE/SUNSET report from the CSS to Hut 3, signalled as SLICK 10 to the PM; on Southern Europe: that according to the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the South-west the railway station and tracks have been damaged as a result of an Allied air raid on Pisoia on December 26; the 51st Mountain Corps' day report for January 3; and on the state of development of five defence positions in central Italy as at December 21; on Germany and Italy: of the one remaining German bomber unit in Italy being transferred to Hamburg on December 14; and of damage caused by Allied air raids on German cities on December 28; Brigadier Kirkman forwards a draft signal to C for the PM, dated January 3, with reference to a BONIFACE report of December 21; on the Russian Front: two situation reports, for January 1 and 2; and on South-east Europe: that the 2nd Panzer Army intends to occupy Brac and capture Solta on about January 10, reported on January 3.
