A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South-eastern Europe: of the steamship Balkan being torpedoed south of Kombi en route to Salonica, on December 23; German Air Force (GAF) Command for the South East report that Allied air activity in the Balkans has stopped owing to bad weather, while activity is continuing in the Aegean, on December 23; and of a document captured by the 15th Mountain Corps which lists the partisans and British officers killed on Glamoc airfield, on November 27; and on the Adriatic: that Operation PENITENT has been declared successful despite strong resistance, on December 23.
