A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South-east Europe: reports of Allied air raids for December 20 - of a convoy being attacked in the sea area north of Rhodes; of a raid on Eleusis airfield; and of a heavy raid on Sofia town and rail station; a report from the German Air Force (GAF) Command for the South east of large-scale supplying of materials by Allied aircraft to guerrillas in the areas west of Sofia, Nisch, Skoplje, Alessio, Ochrida, south of Janina and in central Greece; that a German undertaking east of Tirana has started; and of a successful guerrilla attack on Goritza airfield near Agram, on December 19; on Western Europe: that damage to a rail bridge at Var is serious, with indefinite time being given for its repair; and that GAF troops were attacked in a village north-west of Ussel, in the Departement of Correze, on December 19; and on Italy: of an order from the Commander in Chief (CinC) for the Southwest forbidding entry to Rome by visiting troops without special permits, because of sudden attacks and sabotage, and that all personnel within the city are to travel in pairs and be armed, from December 21.
