Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of the German cruiser Niobe running aground on the south-western tip of Silba, on December 19, see also 5202; a report from the Admiral for the Adriatic on continuous partisan landings on the mainland from Brac, which orders the cruiser Niobe with torpedo boats to operate against the landings, on December 19; the German Air Force (GAF) Zara report there to be little possibility of shipping transport for an indefinite period as the result of an Allied air raid, on December 18; and of the GAF being urged by the German Admiralty to supply air cover for operations against the Dalmatian islands, on December 18; and on the Russian Front: of 32000 army personnel being brought to Crimea between November 1 and December 17 by the GAF.
