A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, on a tour of inspection of defences in France, on November 9; messages arranging the delivery of a Japanese telegram to the Prime Minister (PM) in Cairo: from the Code and Cypher School (CSS) to the Mid-East with details of the sender and addressee, on November 26; a signal to Special Communications Unit (SCU) Cairo, on November 26; the text of a Japanese telegram sent to Cairo on November 26 by Hut 3; corrections to the Japanese report, sent to SCU Cairo, on November 27; corrections to the Japanese report, on November 29; Spencer, the PM, instructs that a copy be given to the U.S. President, on December 6; from C to Gore-Brown that a copy will be given to Admiral Q on arrival, on December 7; and that Washington was asked to bring the Japanese telegram to the attention of the U.S. President at the request of the PM, on December 8.
