This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE summaries for the Deputy Prime Minister (PM), Brigadier Jacob and Mr Loxley; DTG 021101Z, sent from C to the PM in Cairo; on Southern Europe: more on German preparations to take some Dalmatian Islands, on November 30; that Solta Island off Split is to be attacked on December 3; that German vessels are to take on a landing force in Sibenik on December 2; a note to the PM on the special effort being mounted by the German Air Force (GAF) in Italy, on December 1; that the 26th Panzer Division is to replace the 16th Panzer Division in Italy, on November 20, but that other deployments will be necessary within Italy until the 26th Panzer Division is in position; on the German Operation NOSEBAG, that the occupation of the islands off Zara and annihilation of the guerrilla bands there was completed by November but was unsuccessful as the enemy had withdrawn on November 26, and describing the future intentions for the islands; that the German Navy orders the ex-Italian cruiser the Niobe to remain in commission after the German Army refused to undertake any more island operations for lack of naval support when she was withdrawn from the area, and that additional naval vessels are to move to the Dalmatia area to support the army island operations, on November 30 and December 1; and of an Allied advance in the Sangro area, on December 1; on the Russian Front: of the results of a Russian air raid against the port of Ochakov on November 30; and that Hitler orders the transfer of the 16th Panzer Division from Italy to Russia to be accelerated, on November 20.
