Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE summaries for the Deputy Prime Minister (PM), Brigadier Jacob and Mr Loxley; on the Norwegian Sea: that an Allied air attack results in casualties in 2 German tankers, on November 30; on the Mediterranean/Southern Europe: of the food supply situation for Crete and other nearby islands as at November 27 - that the situation is serious with a bread crisis imminent, and that a quarter of the cargo space available as at November 1 had been sunk during the month; on the ammunition stocks for Athens, Crete, Rhodes, Salonica and Sofia; of German cargo ships operating between Port Laki and Rhodes on November 29/30; of an Axis tanker loading heavy oil in Constanza for Piraeus, on November 29; a naval summary for Yugoslavia on November 29/30 including details of an Allied air raid on Split; on the realignment and future plans of German forces opposing guerrilla bands in Yugoslavia, on November 22; and that traffic congestion in Hungary delays ship-building materials bound for Piraeus, on November 29.
