Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE summaries for the Deputy Prime Minister (PM), Brigadier Jacob and Mr Loxley; a note from Jones to C, on the Foreign Office's (FO's) use of information from a SUNSET summary; DTG 011630Z, sent from C to the PM in Cairo; on Southern Europe: of the results of an Allied air raid on the port of Sibenik, on November 28; that an Allied air raid on November 27 against the Italian port of Rimini causes heavy damage and of a request for additional anti-aircraft defences for German supply harbours in the area; that German Air Force (GAF) units in Italy are to make a special effort on December 1 to maximise their operations; a situation report for Yugoslavia, for November 29, including the results of Allied air raids against Sarajevo, Dubrovnik and Zara; a 76th Panzer Corps situation report for operations in Italy, on November 30, describing Allied air superiority, and that GAF air support is urgently needed; and 7 tactical situation reports from various German Army divisions fighting in Italy, for November 30.
