Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE summaries for the Deputy Prime Minister (PM), Brigadier Jacob and Mr Loxley; on Southern Europe: that Allied air attacks on the Italian Adriatic coastal sector render approach roads impassable and prevent German tank operations, on November 27; that island operations continue off Zara, with the Germans occupying 3 islands, on November 27; that the Germans claim to have captured 4000 prisoners while mopping up Samos; that a German cargo ship sunk off Samos on November 27 was carrying German troops and supplies; and further details of an Allied air raid on Toulon, on November 24; on the Russian Front: of a German proposal to establish a German joint services HQ at Constanza in Romania, on November 26; and a German Air Force (GAF) report of operations on the southern Russian Front including Crimea, on November 27.
