Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE summaries for the Deputy Prime Minister (PM), Brigadier Jacob and Mr Loxley; on the Mediterranean/Southern Europe: that the Germans arrive at Samos on November 22, with most British forces having been withdrawn to Leros on November 14 and the remainder having escaped to Turkey; that the Germans consider Allied interest in the Aegean is now subsiding; that an Allied air raid on Civita Vecchia on November 21 results in severe damage; that the Germans are preparing for the demolition of harbours at Cephalonia and Corfu; and of the Allies attacking on a broad front in the sector of the 65th Infantry Division, on 22 November; on the Russian Front: that a German flak division in Crimea is short of ammunition; of Russian penetration south-west of Kremenchug, on November 22; and of German Air Force (GAF) reconnaissance results on November 22 for the areas of the 6th, 8th and 17th Armies and the 1st Panzer Army.
