Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE report to Brigadier Jacob for the Prime Minister (PM); a BONIFACE report for Mr Loxley; on South-east Europe: that the German assault on Leros is not going to plan, on November 12; that the western battle group was ordered to carry out a landing on the west coast of Leros during darkness, on November 12; that an Allied escort vessel was captured by the Germans in Dodecanese waters, on November 12; of the Germans landing on Greek islands and making preparations for an operation against Santorini, on November 12; a German Air Force (GAF) day report for November 11, including mention of the use of radio-controlled bombs against an Allied shipping formation in the Dodecanese; and a 1st SS Panzer Army appreciation of the guerrilla situation on the Italo-Slovenian border, with 5000 guerrillas being estimated, on November 10; on Southern Europe: that an operation against islands in the northern Adriatic is to commence on November 13; and giving details of guerrilla activities on islands in the Fiume area, with the German landing expected to take four to five days, on November 10; the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) South's situation report for November 11; and two reports on damage caused to a railway and bridge in the Cannes area, on November 12; on the Russian Front: a Crimean situation report for November 12; and two situation reports for the Crimea area for November 11.
