Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that the 26th Panzer Division has been forced to withdraw after fluctuating fighting against superior Allied forces, on November 9; and five battle reports from the Italian Front, for November 9; on South-east Europe: that German landing operations against islands in the Gulf of Fiume are planned probably for November 10; on the Russian Front: that preparations for the eventual demolition of Nikolaev dockyard are envisaged, but precipitate measures are to be avoided, on November 7 to 8; Naval Headlines; from the Japanese ambassador in Ankara, on Turkish neutrality, as of November 7; and from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, communicating the views of Jordana on the Moscow Conference, on November 6.
