Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: a battle report from the 14th Corps, for November 8; a battle report from the 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division, including heavy German losses, on November 8; and a casualty return for September 8 to October 15; on South-east Europe: that the landing formation for the attack on Leros is to move one stage nearer its objective, on November 8; that heavy weapons cannot accompany the first wave of attack on Leros owing to a lack of Siebel ferries, on November 7; that a German Air Force (GAF) fighter unit is transferring from Albania to south-east Greece, on November 6; and that E-boats of the 3rd E-flotilla are leaving the Adriatic for the Aegean, on November 8; and on the Russian Front: of Dnieper traffic to Kherson being suspended, with the provision of craft for supplying Crimea being considered a matter of the utmost urgency, on November 6.
