Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: a 14th Panzer Corps report on the evacuation of Venafro, on November 4; of the appearance of the 2nd Parachute Corps, concerned with the setting-up of two new parachute divisions, on October 27; and that Allied landing craft leaving the Mediterranean are appreciated by the Germans to be bound for England, on October 27; on South-east Europe: of orders of November 2 for diversionary air operations over Leros immediately before the attack on the island, on November 2; naval reports of a successful low-level attack by Spitfires on anti-aircraft batteries at Durazzo, on November 3; and that two German aircraft were lost when attempting to fly food to Split, which is reported to be surrounded, on November 2; and on the Russian Front: that the Germans are expecting intensified attacks on the Kerch bridgehead, on November 3.
