Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that the Italian fascist government is to be at Venice, on October 27; that the Hermann Goering Division is to make a further withdrawal, on November 1; that the 26th Panzer Division requests air support for expected very heavy fighting on November 2; and that the 76th Panzer Corps expects British troops to leap-frog by sea up the east coast, on November 1; on South-east Europe: a German Air Force (GAF) evening raid report of November 1, noting losses in a raid on Podgorica airfield; on the Southern Russian Front: that the German Navy in the Black Sea evacuates Kalanchak and Skadovsk, on October 31; and that the German Admiral in the Black Sea calls for attacks on Soviet vessels and complains about premature demolition, on October 31; Naval Headlines; and from the Japanese minister in Berne, detailing Allied differences on the prosecution of the war and on post-war Europe, on October 28.
