A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: SHARK, for October 28 and 29; on South Europe: of severe damage being caused to a tank factory in an Allied raid on Genoa, on October 30; on South-east Europe: of the transfer of ships from the Aegean to the Black Sea for a German special operation, on October 28; of ships being placed at the disposal of the German 15th Corps for the clearing of islands off of Split, on October 30; that operation WOLKENBRUCH against guerillas in Yugoslavia is to begin on October 31; of the orders for operation WOLKENBRUCH, on October 28, and WOLKENBRUCH III (LINNET 3); Naval Headlines; from the Portuguese minister in Berlin, relating the German reaction to Allied use of the Azores, on October 26; and from the French diplomatic representative in Stockholm, to the Fighting France forces in Algiers, on Germany's plight, as of October 27.
