Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: the German Air Force's (GAF's) final report for October 25; a 14th Panzer Corps report, for October 25; the 15th Panzer Grenadier Division's report, for October 25; that the German Navy expects an Allied landing on the east coast, on October 25; and that German air defence artillery is to protect dams in Italy, on October 25; on South-east Europe: of GAF operational orders for October 27; an Army Group N day report on operations in Yugoslavia and northern Italy, on October 25; of Army Group B's operations in Yugoslavia, on October 26; and that Hitler orders that Italian officers offering resistance or collaborating with the enemy are to be shot, on October 16.
