Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: SHARK, for October 24-25; on South Europe: of the 2nd Air Fleet's operational orders for October 26, to give support to the 1st Parachute Division; that elements of the 94th Infantry Division arrive to operate in the winter defence line, on October 25; on measures to prevent the escape of Soviet PoWs, on October 25; on the German removal of roller equipment from Leghorn, on October 23; and of the dismantling of a probable plate-bending machine at Leghorn, on October 22; on South-east Europe: that the German 181st Infantry Division was identified in the Balkans, on October 15; and that the German Air Force's (GAF's) aircraft supply situation is serious, on October 7 (not on the coversheet); Naval Headlines, covering U-boats being active in the Atlantic; from the Japanese Foreign Minister to the ambassador in Berlin, that the German ambassador in Tokyo was informed that Japan has not made supplementary agreements with the Soviet Union, and of intelligence on the Soviet Far East and on U.S. deliveries, on October 21; from the German ambassador in Madrid, on the three-power conference in Moscow, on October 21; and from the Turkish ambassador in Moscow, that a new ambassador has an interview with Molotov, on October 21.
