This file includes the following reports on South Europe: of the resubordination of smoke regiments during the intended withdrawal of the 14th Panzer Corps, on the night of October 23-24; a German Air Force (GAF) operational report, for October 22; a 2nd Air Fleet report for October 23; that the German 356th Infantry Division, previously in the Toulon area, is subordinate to Army Group B, from October 23; that German E-boats are having difficulty in operating against convoys sailing to and from Naples, on October 22; the German 2nd Parachute Division's report, for October 22, noting that Allied aircraft set cargo ships on fire; that a GAF officer is to investigate the use of smoke to protect Brenner, on October 14; that supplies from Army Group B to the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) South are to be sent by small ship, on October 22; and the Commandant at Leghorn reports the start of the dismantling of a roller, probably from a steel plate factory, on October 23; on South-east Europe: that Hitler orders Italian stocks of French 7.5cm guns and ammunition to be sent for use on the Eastern Front; of GAF operations on October 22, stating that Stampalia was captured; of the 12th Panzer Corps' operations in Yugoslavia on October 22; of German operations in Yugoslavia, on October 22; and of an Allied air attack on Tirana airfield, on October 23.
