Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of von Richtofen's orders for combatting Allied low-level and fighter-bomber attacks, on October 20; of the Rome-Civita Vecchia line being interrupted by Allied bombing, on October 21; a situation report from the front line of the 29th Panzer Grenadier Division, on October 21; two reports on E-boat operations to the south-west of Naples for the night of October 21; and that an E-boat operation was diverted to the Gulf of Naples, on October 21; on South-east Europe: of Allied fighters being reported for the first time in Sibernik, on October 21; on the transfer of a fighter unit to the Albanian area as protection against Allied raids from southern Italy, on October 20; of the 20th Flak Division, formerly in Tunisia, being addressed at Tirana, on October 21; that German Air Force (GAF) reconnaissance of Italian airfields is to establish whether the Allies are preparing airborne undertakings, on October 21; and a review by the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the South-east, on October 19; and on the Russian Front: that the Russian threat to Snamenka leaves the bridge being built over the Bug at Trikhaty as the only crossing for supplies to Crimea, on October 20.
