This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of the 2nd Air Fleet's operational orders for October 8, to support the 10th Army's withdrawal on the left wing; of a complaint from the 10th Army about a lack of air reconnaissance information, on October 7; that the German 65th and 305th Infantry Divisions are moving south into the area of the Commander in Chief (CinC) South, on October 6; of a signals line being established between the 1st SS Panzer Army and Fiume, on October 6; of transport orders for the transfer of the 24th Panzer Division from northern Italy to the Eastern Front, on October 5; that elements of the 44th Division are to transfer from the Mantua area to the Lyublyana area, on October 6; a day report for October 6, noting the forward line of the 12th Panzer Corps; that mopping up operations by the 71st Infantry Division in Fiume have been completed; that operations have begun in the area of Abbazia-Mattuglie-the Trieste road as far as Obrovo-Golazzo-Mune-Apriano; that the 314th Infantry Regiment is mopping up in the area of Cividale-Tiglio-the hills west and east of the Nathsome stream; that the 18th Panzer Division's Battle HQ is at Castellupogliano; that the 12th Panzer Corps has completed mopping up in the area of Monsoja-Pinguente-Vodizze and eastwards; and that the 71st Infantry Division is beginning an operation in the area of Fiume-Kraldevi-Hreljin-Korilnia-Jeljenje-Karenjak; of a newly arrived 6000-strong Assault Brigade being in Trieste, on October 3; a German intelligence appreciation of the Allied units that are engaged in Italy; a summary of the men, armour and artillery transported from Corsica, on October 6; and that Hitler orders the immediate increased Flak protection of Bolzano on October 7.
