This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: an Italian situation report for October 5; of the front line on the central sector of the Italian Front according to the 76th Corps, as of October 5; three reports on activity on the Italian Front for October 5; that mopping up operations south of Trieste are reported to have been completed by October 4; and of certain German Air Force (GAF) railway transports away from Rome being doubled from October 5, with all goods to be cleared by October 15; on South-east Europe: of indications of impending German operations against Naxos, on October 4; a GAF situation report for October 4 including that the Germans are in complete possession of Kos; a report of October 3 on operations on Kos; a directive ordering employment of a GAF anti-shipping unit (KG100) only against worthwhile targets, on October 5; on the Russian Front: GAF reconnaissance reports on crossings of the Dnieper in several places, and referring to the area of penetration, on October 5; and SHARK: reporting success on October 2.
