Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that the 76th Corps expects further Allied landings at Termoli, on October 5; three ground situation reports including the serviceable aircraft of the 2nd Air Corps, on October 5; and that the Germans are ordered during their withdrawal to deprive the Allies of every source of supply by destruction, and to prevent the Italians from concealing stocks, on October 4; on South-east Europe: the Germans report 600 British prisoners have been taken on Kos and booty was captured, on October 4; of the result of Allied air raids over the Greek islands, on September 30; and a summary of the situation in the Aegean, as of September 30; Naval Headlines; and from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, on a German prohibition to journalists to discuss the possibilities of Soviet-German rapprochement, on September 30.
