A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that the 26th Panzer Division is to withdraw, on the night of September 27- 28; that Kesselring asks about the forces employed on increased protection of sea and air convoys on Hitler's orders, on September 25; of measures for the protection of convoys going from Corsica to Italy, on September 25; that the German Navy seeks German Air Force (GAF) bomber attacks on Allied naval forces off Corsica, to protect convoys, on September 28; that GAF bombers are to attack Allied cruisers in Ajaccio harbour, on September 25; and that the GAF HQ's decision to switch resources in Italy to the protection of Corsica convoys will denude the Southern Front, on September 25; on South-east Europe: that a Croat flying unit intended for service in the east is to be used in Croatia with Italian aircraft, on September 25; that the Croatians are to set up naval commands on the Adriatic, from September 25; of trains for Croatia and beyond being held up, on September 21; and that the GAF seek aviation fuel from Germany as the Belgrade-Agram railway is closed, on September 23; on the German Navy (in European waters): a situation report of September 28; and on Germany: that Italian armed forces internees are to be sent to the German armaments industry, from September 25.
