Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South-east Europe: that the German Air Force (GAF) are unable to assist with dive bombers in the fighting at Split until September 23 or 24; and that the German secret service on Chios is to call on the Blackshirts to hold Samos until they are relieved by the Germans, on September 22; on South Europe: of the GAF being asked to provide fighter protection after the loss of 4 air transports between Corsica and the mainland, on September 23; and that the GAF have a surplus of captured Italian generals, on September 23; on Germany: that Goering calls for volunteers for parachute divisions, on September 23; that the GAF orders the setting up of emergency stocks of 2cm ammunition for emergency use, on September 22; and that the Army Personnel Office is unable to supply officers because of losses on the Eastern Front, on September 24; on the Southern Russian Front: that the GAF request an expedition of supply trains to relieve the strained fuel situation, on September 23; on GAF reconnaissance of advancing Soviet traffic, on September 23; an operational report on Roumanian forces, from September 18; a 4th Air Fleet report on the air situation on September 22; and on the order of battle of the Soviet air armies, for September 23; and on North-west Europe: a post-mortem following the submarine attack on the Tirpitz, on September 23.
