A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: of the location of the Hermann Goering Division, on September 23; that the 76th Panzer Corps is in a new line of resistance, on September 23; a 76th Panzer Corps report on three U.S. divisions, on September 23; a 10th Army report, for September 23; the 76th Panzer Corps report the positions of the 1st Parachute Division, on September 23; on the air liaison landing ground of the 16th Panzer Division, on September 23; that the German Navy are to use dispersed beaches for the evacuation of Sardinia, because of the air attacks on Bastia, on September 23; of arrangements for the withdrawal of German Air Force (GAF) units from Corsica to the mainland, on September 23; of a GAF directive on Corsica, from September 22; of a German ship being sunk between Genoa and Spezia, on September 23; and that the GAF are to assist the German Navy in the capture of escaping Italian ships, on September 23; on South-east Europe: of German measures to protect Aegean shipping from submarines and surface craft, on September 23; of the German transfer of Italian ships to the Aegean, on September 15; and on the transfer of Italian ships to the Germans, on September 23; on Germany: of a GAF order for captured Italian civil defence equipment to be sent to Germany, on September 23; on the Southern Russian Front: of two trains carrying bombs being diverted from the 2nd Air Fleet to the 4th Air Fleet, on September 22; and that the Germans are considering building a railway bridge over the Dnieper, on September 21; on North-west Europe: of a submarine attack on the Tirpitz, on September 22; Naval Headlines; and from the French General Petit, in Moscow, to the Free France forces in Algiers, describing an interview with Stalin, on September 16.
