A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: a report from the German 10th Army, for September 23, describing withdrawals; that the 26th Panzer Division is to construct a new position, on September 23; a report from the German 15th Division for September 23, detailing bombing attacks on Formia; on the German divisional front line, on September 23; the 76th Panzer Corps' report for September 23; that the 29th Panzer Grenadier Division is to withdraw, on September 23; of the Hermann Goering Division being under attack, but blocking, on September 23; a German 14th Corps report, for September 23; a 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division report of enemy night raids, on September 23; a German Air Force (GAF) situation report, for September 23; that the GAF are to speed up the air transport evacuation of Corsica, on September 23; that the GAF are to increase the serviceability of Jg77 aircraft as the sea evacuation of Corsica is endangered, on September 23; that the German Navy in Ancona are alert for 1000 escaped British prisoners, on September 22; that the German Navy are to transfer boats overland from Genoa to Venice, on September 23; on German supply trains for central and southern Italy, from September 8-17, noting that the Brenner railway is again in use; and that withdrawing Germans are collecting Italians who are capable of military service to prevent them from falling into Allied hands, on September 20; on the German Navy: that the need for U-boats to maintain a constant look-out against air attack is a sacred duty, on September 21; on the Central Russian Front: of GAF reconnaissance results, on September 21; and on South-east Europe: the Germans report on the reaction of Italian forces to Mussolini's release, on September 19.
