Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: two German Air Force (GAF) situation reports on the Salerno Front for September 21; that part of the Hermann Goering Division is to withdraw slightly during the night of September 21; of the withdrawal of the 1st Parachute Division, on September 21; that the 2nd Air Corps had insufficient forces to provide air cover, on September 21; on details of the German forward defence line in Corsica on September 21; and situation reports for Corsica and Sardinia for September 20 and 21, including 3000 men being transported by air from Corsica to Italy; and on the Russian Front: of considerable damage being caused to the bauxite port of Ploce, near Split, on September 19.
