This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: two German Air Force (GAF) situation reports on the Salerno Front for September 21; that part of the Hermann Goering Division is to withdraw slightly during the night of September 21; of the withdrawal of the 1st Parachute Division, on September 21; that the 2nd Air Corps had insufficient forces to provide air cover, on September 21; on details of the German forward defence line in Corsica on September 21; and situation reports for Corsica and Sardinia for September 20 and 21, including 3000 men being transported by air from Corsica to Italy; and on the Russian Front: of considerable damage being caused to the bauxite port of Ploce, near Split, on September 19.
