This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); from Washington to the Code and Cypher School (CSS), on September 14, that signals intelligence reports were delivered to the PM; on South Europe: that the German Navy orders a full night operation by E boats against the Allies at Salerno, on the night of September 13-14; probably a 14th Panzer Corps situation report for September 13 at Salerno; the Italians on Corsica report the loss of Bastia to the Germans, but that vigorous defence is continuing, on September 14; that German Air Force (GAF) bombers are to attack warships in Salerno Bay, on September 14; of the German 1st Parachute Division's success against the Italians, on September 12; that the GAF are to attack Bastia, on September 13; and the Germans on Corsica report renewed fighting at Casamozza, on September 13.
