A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on South Europe: on the location of the German 10th Army's landing ground, on September 12th; the Germans report the enemy to be withdrawing in front of the 16th Panzer Division, on September 13; [29th Panzer Grenadiers] Division situation reports on September 13; a 14th Panzer Corps report, for the morning of September 13; a German Air Force (GAF) operations report for September 12; the Germans report enemy advances, on September 12; of GAF operational orders for the night of September 13-14, that three German divisions are to counter-attack in the Gulf of Salerno; that the German 14th Corps expects a new attack at Salerno, on September 12; of GAF reconnaissance, on September 13; and that the Germans encounter Italian resistance in north Sardinia and Maddalena, on September 13; and on South-east Europe: a GAF Command for the Southeast day report for September 13.
