This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on South Europe: that Salerno is again in German hands, on September 13; a German Air Force (GAF) situation report, for the morning of September 12; that the 24th Panzer Division is due to arrive at Leghorn on September 12; that the GAF has completed its transfer from Sardinia to Corsica, on September 11; that the Germans are to evacuate Corsica, on September 13; of the southern boundary of Army Group B, on September 12; that the GAF disarm the Italians and take over airfields on the Plain of Lombardy, on September 11; an Army Group B day report for September 11, describing mopping up in northern Italy; of damage caused by a raid on Frosinone airfield, on September 12; the GAF report an Italian liner at Venice is on fire, on September 12; from the German police in Rome to Berlin, on September 12, detailing the situation in Rome; of an agreement with the Italians in Rome for the German take-over of their forces and weaponry, on September 11; and BONIFACE report 467, that Mussolini is due to arrive in Germany on the 12th (to the Southern Department of the Foreign Office, not included); on South-east Europe: that the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the Southeast announces the completion of the disarming of Italian forces, on September 12; of the Balkan situation, as of September 11; that Euboea has been temporarily abandoned to the guerillas; that Italian ships were prevented from sailing from Durazzo; and GAF reconnaissance suggests that an Italian naval unit has left Rhodes, on September 12; and on the Southern Russian Front: that the German secret service are to cease their agent work and withdraw from Crimea, from September 7.
