This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of German re-inforcements being brought up to Salerno; of German forces withdrawing according to plan in Calabria; of the German Air Force (GAF) operating against a formation of Italian warships; and of concentrated air attacks on an Allied landing fleet at Salerno, on September 9; a report of an air raid on Foggia, on September 9; and of a German R-boat being attacked by Italian E-boats off of Leghorn, on September 9.
