A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of an Allied air raid on Viterbo air field, on September 5; and of Allied fighter bombers strafing roads in great numbers, on September 5; on West Europe: of a shortage of personnel to use or maintain Flak weapons and equipment, on September 6; and Naval Headlines, covering a high proportion of U-boats leaving Biscay ports then having to return because of defects; and the Italian cruiser Attilio Regolo exercising off of Spezia.
