Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: from the Japanese ambassador in Rome, on the events immediately following the political changes in Italy, and on relations between Germany and Italy, on August 26; from the German ambassador in Rome, forwarding an account of the Quebec Conference given by the U.S. chargé at the Vatican, on August 30; and the Italian ambassador in Madrid notes the effects of the fall of Kharkov as reflected by the Spanish Press, and comments on the appointment of Himmler to the German Interior Ministry, on August 24.
