A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on South Europe: that the Italian Admiralty warns that an Allied build-up suggests operations against southern Italy, Sardinia and Corsica, on August 26; of German information on the Italian 19th Corps in the Gaeta-Salerno area, on August 25; of an Allied air raid on Taranto, on August 26; and that rail traffic resumes at Taranto, on August 26; and on South-east Europe: on the possible transfer of the German 2nd Army from the Russian Front to the Balkans, on August 26.
