This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on South Europe: of the German Air Force's (GAF's) operational orders for August 25-26, including reconnaissance for enemy landing attempts; that Kesselring states that the battle in Sicily showed the clear superiority of the German command and troops, on August 24; that Kesselring calls for the strictest economy in fuel consumption, on August 24; that Kesselring is concerned at the number of German soldiers remaining in Rome, on August 24; of the tank status of the 16th Panzer Division, on August 24; and on the aircraft status of the 2nd Air Corps, as of August 25; and on Germany: of considerable damage caused by an air raid on Berlin, on August 25.
