Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on South Europe: of the 87th Army Corps being near Genoa, on August 20; that the Messina Straits are quiet now that the withdrawal of the army has been completed, on August 20; that Richthoven orders that all PoWs are to remain in German hands, on August 20; and a German secret service report on a liaison with the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) South, on August 18; on South-east Europe: a German Air Force (GAF) Air Officer Croatia report for August 20, noting the tense situation; and on the dangers of travel in Croatia, on August 15; and on Western Europe: that a GAF reconnaissance of east Scottish ports reveals no indication of invasion intentions, on August 20.
