A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on South Europe: of the order of battle of Army Group B being established in north Italy, on August 17, noting the ruthless use of arms where necessary; that Italian authorities in Corsica are to be alert for indications of Allied landings, on August 19; and that the German transport authorities at Naples, Genoa and Leghorn are to ensure ships are ready to sail immediately, on August 18; on South-east Europe: that the German Navy are to operate naval vessels as merchantmen in the Aegean, on August 11; German secret service reports from Yugoslavia, for August 9 and 14; and on the Southern Russian Front: of fighting on the Kharkov and Donets fronts, on August 17.
