Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on South Europe: that the German Air Force (GAF) report a further raid on Sibari station on August 17; that Battiplagia station has been destroyed in an air raid, on August 17; that the 14th Panzer Corps' staff is to move to Formia, on August 16; that the German Navy are to speed up the removal of gear and stores from Naples, on August 18; that the German Navy are to withdraw from southern Italy, with landing craft heading to the Bonifacio Straits, on August 17-18; and of an SS brigade seeking artillery batteries from Sardinia, on August 18; on Germany: that Goering orders the transfer of GAF personnel to anti-aircraft artillery, on August 14; on South-east Europe: the German 69th Reserve Corps is noted as being in Croatia, on August 12; the Air Officer for the Balkans is noted as being at Salonika, on August 18; and of a GAF instruction on the serviceability and defence of Cattavia airfield on Rhodes, on August 10.
