A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); and a SUNSET intelligence report; on South Europe: that German E-boat bases are transferring north, on August 18; that the German Navy orders the evacuation of fuel and oil from Taranto and Brindisi, on August 17; that the 29th Panzer Division was completely evacuated from Sicily by August 17; and of German Army supplies being ferried from Sardinia to Corsica, on August 17; on West Europe: of Allied air raids on Germany, on August 17; from the Japanese minister in Madrid, giving the Spanish Foreign Minister's views on the Spanish reaction to the fall of Mussolini, on August 14; that the Italian ambassador's warning to Mussolini was ignored, and a similar fate may be in store for Hitler, on August 14.
