A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on South Europe: a report of the chief artillery commander for the Straits of Messina, on August 16; of German naval units moving further north; that air defence artillery dispositions are to cover the move of German Army units from Calabria to Salerno, on August 16; that a German artillery commander is to transfer to the Salerno area, on August 16; of Allied attacks on German Air Force (GAF) airfields, on August 16; on the German major HQ in north Italy, on August 16; and that the German supply authorities are to cease sending supplies to Sardinia, from August 17.
