A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE report from Brigadier Hollis to the Prime Minister (PM); the chief of the Italian secret service reports on the situation in northern Italy, as of August 10; on Southern Europe: that evacuation was to take place in the Straits of Messina, on August 10; of a shortage of railway tank-trucks in Italy, on August 8; that an Italian destroyer was sunk off Spezia, on August 10; and that due to transport difficulties, all army leave to Hamburg is still prohibited, on August 10.
