This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE report from Brigadier Hollis to the Prime Minister (PM); a daily SUNSET intelligence report; from the Japanese ambassador in Rome, on an interview with Guariglia, on August 5; from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, that great prominence was given to a communiqué of a meeting between Ribbentrop and Guariglia, on August 7; from the Greek ambassador in Ankara, forwarding Turkish information on the Allied air-raids on Hamburg and Ploesti on August 6; from the Portuguese minister in Berlin, describing the increasing evacuation of Berlin, on August 7; from the Greek minister in Lisbon, giving Portuguese views of the German situation, on August 7; from the Japanese minister in Madrid, relaying the Italian ambassador's views on the Italian situation, as at August 2; and from the Portuguese minister in Tokyo, reporting Japanese reactions to the events in Europe, on August 3.
