Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE report from Brigadier Hollis to the Prime Minister (PM); on Southern Europe: of indications that the 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division may have moved to southern Italy, on August 8; a Leghorn harbour situation report, for August 8; and a damage assessment report after an Allied raid on the Calabrian coast, on August 8; on South-east Europe: of reinforcements sailing from Greece to the Dodecanese, on August 9; on the Russian Front: that operations by the 4th Air Fleet on August 8 included the dropping of supplies to forces cut off in the Byelgorod area; and a SUNSET intelligence report.
