A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE reports from Brigadier Hollis to the Prime Minister (PM); on Southern Europe: German Air Force (GAF) and naval situation reports on Sicily, for August 5 and 6; and that the Axis withdrawal in Sicily is proceeding according to plan, on August 7; on South-east Europe: of an 1800-ton Axis transport vessel being torpedoed off the entrance to the Dardanelles, on August 7; from the Portuguese ambassador to the Vatican, that the Italian and German foreign ministers are to meet, on August 6; and from the Portuguese minister in Berlin, on the evacuation of Berlin, on August 5.
