Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE reports from Brigadier Hollis to the Prime Minister (PM); a daily SUNSET intelligence report; on Southern Europe: that transports to Sicily to load only ammunition are in short supply, according to the German authorities in the Messina Straits, on August 6; on South-east Europe: a day report including considerable guerilla activity in Yugoslavia, and that traffic routes and harvests have been sabotaged, on August 3; and that the 173rd Reserve Division has been identified for the first time on operations in the Balkans, on July 30.
