This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE reports from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on Southern Europe: that the speedy despatch of assault boats and inflatable rafts was requested by the Goering Division to Catona, on August 4; that Hitler congratulates the 14th Panzer Corps operating in Sicily on their great successes in defensive action, on August 4; that a 17 cm gun battery is transferring to the Reggio district on the night of August 5; that German Air Force (GAF) authorities order the ejection of German troops from an Italian building which they had requisitioned, on August 4; that 77 tanks are destined for Austria, with indications that they are in transit to Italy, with 53 of them belonging to the Waffen SS, on August 1; of the withdrawal of GAF and sea rescue elements from La Maddelena to the Toulon area, on August 5; that 16 transport aircraft are said to have been destroyed in an Allied air-raid on Capo Dichino, on August 2; of a torpedo boat being sunk in an Allied raid on Naples on August 4; of Italian shipping movements, on August 5; and Naval Headlines.
