Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE reports from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on Southern Europe: that the speedy despatch of assault boats and inflatable rafts was requested by the Goering Division to Catona, on August 4; that Hitler congratulates the 14th Panzer Corps operating in Sicily on their great successes in defensive action, on August 4; that a 17 cm gun battery is transferring to the Reggio district on the night of August 5; that German Air Force (GAF) authorities order the ejection of German troops from an Italian building which they had requisitioned, on August 4; that 77 tanks are destined for Austria, with indications that they are in transit to Italy, with 53 of them belonging to the Waffen SS, on August 1; of the withdrawal of GAF and sea rescue elements from La Maddelena to the Toulon area, on August 5; that 16 transport aircraft are said to have been destroyed in an Allied air-raid on Capo Dichino, on August 2; of a torpedo boat being sunk in an Allied raid on Naples on August 4; of Italian shipping movements, on August 5; and Naval Headlines.
