Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE reports from Brigadier Hollis to the Prime Minister (PM); on Southern Europe: that there will be no further transport of coastal artillery to the Messina Straits, from August 1; that elements of a parachute division are to transfer to the Reggio area to reinforce the rear cover of the 14th Panzer Corps, on August 3; of a lack of spares for tanks in Sicily, on August 3; and that a ground-attack unit in southern Italy is without any serviceable aircraft, on August 4; from the Turkish minister in Madrid, relating Spanish reactions to the Italian situation, on August 3; and from the Portuguese minister in Berlin, on the evacuation of Berlin, on August 3.
