This file includes the following correspondence: from the Romanian consul-general in Milan, on the Italian situation, as at July 31; from the Portuguese minister in Rome, on the Italian situation, on July 31; from the Japanese representative to the Vatican, on Italian peace moves, on July 31; from the Brazilian ambassador in Madrid, on the Spanish situation, as of July 30; from the Japanese ambassador in Rome, giving the views of the Bulgarian minister on the Italian crisis, on July 30; on its effect on the war effort, on July 29; and on an interview with Mussolini, on July 25; from the Chinese chargé in Berne, detailing German demands presented to Italy, on July 30; from the Japanese ambassador in Istanbul, on Turkish policy, on July 30; from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, on an interview with Hitler, on July 30; from the Japanese ambassador in Rome, describing Japanese relations with Italy, as of July 30; from the Turkish minister in Stockholm, reporting Finnish reactions to the Italian situation, on July 29; from the Turkish minister in Stockholm, that the Germans have taken measures to be able to close the Norwegian-Swedish border, on July 29; from the Japanese ambassador in Vichy, on the Italian situation, as at July 29; from the Turkish military attaché in Madrid, that the Allies are to attack Morea, on July 29; from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, stating views on the Italian situation, as of July 28; from the Greek ambassador in Ankara, on an Italian appeal to Germany, on July 28; from the Japanese ambassador to Istanbul, on Turkish policy, on July 27; from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, relating the views of Steengracht on the Italian crisis, on July 27; from the Japanese vice-consul in Hamburg, reporting Allied air-raids on Hamburg, on July 25; and the Japanese minister in Madrid urges the occupation of the maritime province, on July 26.
